Why choose to ground the spray gun as the positive electrode while the paint atomizer is negative? This decision reduces the risk of unsafe spark discharges, ensuring a safer and more controlled application process.
To successfully execute electrostatic coating, the target surface must be an excellent conductor of electricity. While wood is typically seen as a poor conductor, if its moisture content reaches 8% or higher, it becomes feasible for electrostatic coating. Practical experience has confirmed this adaptability.
In standard electrostatic coating operations, the current that flows between the positive and negative electrodes ranges from 20 to 50 microamps (MICRO-AMPERE).
