The electrostatic spray gun stands as the cornerstone of industrial spray equipment, serving as the pivotal component in coating lines. This quintessential tool elevates surface treatment processes through its adept use of a low-pressure, high-atomization system, paired with an electrostatic generator to establish an electrostatic field. This force enables the spray gun to apply coatings efficiently and swiftly, ensuring a flawless finish. The gun is grounded as the positive electrode, while the paint atomization device acts as the negative electrode, with a high negative voltage bridging the gap. The resulting electrostatic field imparts a negative charge to the atomized coating particles, allowing them to adhere effectively to the opposing electrode, culminating in the optimal surface coating.
Why then is the paint applied as a positive electrode while using the paint atomizer as a negative? This configuration, however, presents an increased risk for spark discharge, which demands caution.
To enable electrostatic coating successfully, the grounding of the coating material is paramount, necessitating that it be a good electrical conductor. While wood is typically deemed a poor conductor, it can become viable for electrostatic coating when its moisture content exceeds 8%, as practice and experience corroborate.
In standard electrostatic coating operations, the current oscillating between the positive and negative electrodes measures a mere 20 to 50 microamps, a minuscule quantity. Consequently, even materials with higher resistance, such as wood, can undergo electrostatic coating effectively.
All data presented in the table are meticulously collected from the esteemed CNISOO / CNSEIKO laboratory. The testing involved using tap water with a neutral PH level of 7. Coating pressure was maintained at a precise 1Bar, with the pipeline seamlessly connected. Additionally, the atomized particle measurements were conducted using sophisticated laser diffraction techniques.
